On July 12, 2023, the international conference of the two Erasmus+ projects Pragress and Communicare took place at the DHBW Stuttgart.
In the morning, the participants were welcomed by Rector Prof. Dr. Joachim Weber and by Veit Walter, Head of the Research Department at the Wohlfahrtswerk für Baden-Württemberg. In the afternoon, Dr. Alexandra Sußmann (Mayor, Department of Social Affairs and Social Integration, State
Capital Stuttgart) gave her welcoming speech, in which she emphasized the social relevance of the conference topics of communication and aggression.
Overall, the participants were offered a diverse and varied program with a workshop on the importance of the voice in communication by Tina Recknagel and a keynote speech on the topic of “Sexual violence, assault and misconduct by health professionals – forms, frequency and development of protective measures” by Dr. Ulrike Hoffmann (head of the working group “Knowledge Transfer, Dissemination, E-Learning”, University Hospital Ulm). The European project partners from Italy, Ireland, Greece, Austria and Finland presented the two MOOCs (Massive Open Online Courses) of the projects and the participants had the opportunity to try them out on site and to ask the project staff questions in a panel discussion. The international conference was rounded off with a body scan – a mindfulness exercise – during which all participants were able to calm down and reflect on the eventful day.
The conference was jointly organized by the Study Center Health Sciences & Management, Prof.in Dr. Bettina Flaiz and Amelie Büchler and the Wohlfahrtswerk für Baden-Württemberg, Ruth Dankbar and Mareike Drescher.
